These four images were exhibited at the Conservatory of Music in Feb/March, 2019. I hope you enjoy them!
Nap Time The last few months have been extremely busy with shows, exhibits and, above all, a life changing trip to Kenya. I had wanted to visit since I was a child and was fortunate enough to meet someone one day, just by chance, who made my lifelong dream come true. Now, all I can think about is returning...soon. It is a magical place of wide open spaces, wild animals in their natural habitat, protected from human interference and poaching. No Wi-Fi, cell phones, internet, TV or news (unless you absolutely must have contact with the rest of the planet, but you won't want to.) Fresh air, wonderful people, amazing food and up-close viewing of wildlife of all kinds. Reviewing my images takes me back there, and I admit, I can be lost in the memories they provoke for hours! I have attached a few of my recent works from a show called "Portals". Everything that I produce and exhibit this year will be from my experiences in Kenya. Looking directly into the eyes of a truly wild animal is nothing short of magical and surreal. A calm curiosity exists for a brief period, then they simply go about their business of just being. Some of my encounters were very close indeed but always calm and unbelievably wonderful. For some time, I have been contemplating plans for exciting, new, and innovative pieces and now, I have the photographs with which to begin these projects in the very near future. Stay tuned!
