This image is on display at the Coast Collective Show titled In Conversation, as is a piece of my poetry. The exhibit is a blending of Poetry and Art. I was driving towards Victoria, BC, passing Elk Lake, when I noticed everyone on the highway had their brake lights on. I thought there had been an accident up ahead, but to my delight, this spectacular light show at sunset was what everyone was stopping to admire. I was lucky to be in the outside lane and was able to pull over and stop to get several  wonderful memories of this magnificent manifestation.

"Wings" is the second entry that was accepted into the Show. On an overcast day, and almost at twilight, the colors and contrasts were sublime as I captured a preening swan as she stood very close to me and posed beautifully for the camera. There is no photo-altering used in this or any of my work.

This image is taken in Svalbard at the Alkefjellet Nesting Grounds. Every tiny ledge on the 2,000 foot cliffs on this area of the island is lined with tens of thousands of sea birds facing the rock, bracing the elements and  doing their utmost to ensure a continuation of their species.
