The last few months have been extremely busy with shows, exhibits and, above all, a life changing trip to Kenya. I had wanted to visit since I was a child and was fortunate enough to meet someone one day, just by chance, who made my lifelong dream come true. Now, all I can think about is returning...soon. It is a magical place of wide open spaces, wild animals in their natural habitat, protected from human interference and poaching. No Wi-Fi, cell phones, internet, TV or news (unless you absolutely must have contact with the rest of the planet, but you won't want to.) Fresh air, wonderful people, amazing food and up-close viewing of wildlife of all kinds. Reviewing my images takes me back there, and I admit, I can be lost in the memories they provoke for hours! I have attached a few of my recent works from a show called "Portals". Everything that I produce and exhibit this year will be from my experiences in Kenya. Looking directly into the eyes of a truly wild animal is nothing short of magical and surreal. A calm curiosity exists for a brief period, then they simply go about their business of just being. Some of my encounters were very close indeed but always calm and unbelievably wonderful. For some time, I have been contemplating plans for exciting, new, and innovative pieces and now, I have the photographs with which to begin these projects in the very near future. Stay tuned!

"Jiggy Rigging" has also been selected for the Sooke Fine Art Show 2018. This image was captured in the Victoria Inner Harbour, and is the reflection of the tall ship masts and rigging just after the little Harbour Ferry went past. It is printed on metallic paper and dibond metal and is #1 in a limited edition of 3.
I hope you will visit the Sooke Fine Art Show to see the wonderful talent of our local artists. I am thrilled to announce that two of my works have been accepted into the prestigious Sooke Fine Art Show, 2018, and was just informed that one has been awarded "Honorable Mention" by the Jurors. The images will be posted here after the Show opens. Each is a limited edition of 3. I hope you have a chance to attend the Show. It offers a wonderful diversity of Art, something for everyone!
One of my images from Yellowstone National Park was one of the fifty artworks chosen out of the hundreds of artists submissions into the 4th Annual Victoria Arts Council juried exhibit ART NOW at the Atruim in Victoria BC. It was a wonderful show, such diversity and talent.
I was happy to have 4 of my images accepted into the projected display of the photography exhibit at the Red River Ex this summer.
